Explore the very heart of Normandy, the Pays d'Auge, on this fascinating tour. The Pays d’Auge is a hilly region found between Caen and Rouen and is known for its stud farms, tasty cheeses and apple orchards. It’s here we’ll find La Route du Cidre or The Cider Route, which explores the orchards and distilleries used to make cider and calvados, a type of apple brandy. One of the main highlights of this tour are the gardens of the Château de Boutemont, which are some of Normandy's finest. Surrounding a 16th century castle, the gardens were designed in the 20th century by the landscape architect Achille Duchêne, and feature an Italian garden, a fragrant flower garden and a large formal garden, among others.
