The Provençal city of Aix sits in the region of Alpes-Côte d'Azur and is known for being the birthplace of post-impressionist painter Paul Cézanne. We’ll follow the Cézanne trail through the city, visiting places such as artist’s workshop, the houses he lived in as a child and the cafes where he used to meet his friends. Our tour will also take in the celebrated Granet Museum, which displays artistic design from Antiquity through to the 16th-19th century French, Flemish and Italian masters. We’ll also visit the Vasarely Foundation, showcasing the works of Hungarian-French artist Victor Vasarely, who is widely considered to be the grandfather of the op art movement.
