Besides the ancient hilltop villages, grand historic cities and famous lavender fields, two things that Provence is known for are its exceptional olive oils and wines. On this full day experience, you’ll learn all about its appellation products, how they’re made and what they taste like. It is thought that the Greeks brought the first olive tree to Provence around 8,000 years ago, and since then olive oil has become an integral part of the Mediterranean diet here. The region also produces some of France’s best-loved wines made from the Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre grape varieties. We can customize a full day tour for you, depending on your hotel location. It will include visits to historic oil mills and wineries, as well as tastings of some local specialties along the way.
